Welcome to Undrfy, a discovery platform for underground electronic music. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Anonymous Authentication
To submit an artist profile, we use Firebase Authentication to create a temporary, anonymous user session. This session helps us securely process and attribute submissions without requiring you to create a personal account or provide an email address to log in.
Artist Submissions
When you submit an artist profile, we collect the information you provide directly, which includes:
- Artist name, type, and bio
- Primary and secondary genres
- Location (city and country)
- A contact email (for internal use) and an optional public booking email
- Links to your social media and music platforms
- URLs and IDs for music embeds
The initial 107 artist placeholders were created manually from publicly available information from sources such as the Balance Croatia festival lineup, the Australian underground scene, and artists connected to Wear the Groove and Undrfy through social media.
Usage Data & Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to help us understand how the platform is used and how to improve it. This does not include personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to:
- Process, review, and publish your artist profile submission
- Deliver and optimize platform features like artist discovery
- Monitor engagement and improve the user experience
- Prevent abuse and maintain security
We do not use your data for targeted advertising or profiling.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell or rent data. We use specialized third-party services to operate our platform, and data sharing is limited to what is necessary for their function:
- Google Cloud Platform (Firebase): We use Firebase Authentication to manage anonymous user sessions and Firestore to store artist submissions.
- Algolia: Approved public artist data is indexed in Algolia to power our search.
4. Your Rights and Data Control
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data submitted for a profile
- Request updates or corrections to a published artist profile
- Request the permanent deletion of an artist profile
